On Tuesday the 21st November 2017 Rescue Rod’s water tankers were deployed to several areas in the north of Johannesburg.  The water supply had to be shut  to avoid reservoirs running dry as a result of the biggest burst pipe in Johannesburg’s history.

Johannesburg Water said the repair took longer than expected as the damaged pipe was 35 meters underground a very unstable landfill site. Residents only got water back in their taps late afternoon on Thursday the 23 November 2017.

Rescue Rod was inundated with requests for water delivery and we had to prioritise essential services to ensure that the water outage had a minimal impact on hospitals and our tourism industry too with our water tankers delivering water to hotels and manufacturing industries.
