Rescue Rod – CIPP Liner
No-Dig Pipe Rehabilitation
CIPP is used to rehabilitate existing sewer pipelines by lining the walls of the existing pipe with an epoxy resin tube.
During the renovation process, the liner is soaked in resin and then inserted into the defective pipe using pressurised air or water. This completely lines the inside of the pipe and eliminates any existing or potential damage. Curing creates a completely new, watertight pipe within the old one.
This rehabilitation application can be carried out quickly, permanently and cost-effectively. Rescue Rod’s CIPP Liner is a “no dig” sewer rehabilitation system for repairing damaged drains and sewers without the need to carry out disruptive excavations. Developed specifically for the rehabilitation of pipes in diameters from dn 50 to dn 250 and offers many advantages compared to traditional remediation. |

Pipe Relining Project – Mister Sweet in Johannesburg
Problem
A sweet manufacturing plant in Wadeville, Germiston was consistently dealing with a health hazard due to contínuos sewer spillages due to offset joints, longitudinal cracks and structural wear, on a 110-mm clay sewer line running underneath a food processing factory. The plant managers were looking for a solution.
Solution
The maintenance department from the plant contacted Rescue Rod in Sebenza, Edenvale, to reline the pipeline with a CIPP liner from Brawoliner. The fibre glass/epoxy composite material rehabilitates the structure and water tightness of existing pipe, and the chemically resistant resin will prevent any wear from chemicals such as caustics and acids used in cleaning their equipment, all without any excavation or disruption in a food plant where cleanliness and aseptic operations are more than critical.
Result
The repair was completed in two days.
Process:
1. Construct water tower for inversion of liner
2. Impregnate liner with resin epoxy
3. Invert liner into existing line
4. liner exits at manhole
5. Cure period
6. Re-instate connections
7. Job complete
The Eco-Friendly Pipe Relining Choice
